The Abbey Road @ Gwendolyne Hats Rocks! - - 2009-11-03
Disclaimer: I am not a hat person, and before visiting this atelier, I have never worn a hat, except the kind one must wear in a snow blizzard. I first discovered this gem of a hat shop (and Gwendolyn, the creator of, along with her husband, and warm-hearted woman as well, who does not try to sell you just any of her creations, but the one with your name on it:) a decade ago, and have just purchased my second hat (some designs can be pricey, but well worth it!), "The Abbey Road", which I cannot take off my head!
The shop is awash with color and texture and comfort and warmth, and the other customers who enter seem to be just as friendly and willing to lend a helping hand by giving an opinion or sharing a story. The entire visit is a jaunt into fun and fantasy and a mood lifting experience, once you find "your" hat to frame your face.
But best of all is the warmth and care that Gwendolyn and her husband have shown to me, a stranger, just a customer, because this is the kind of people they are. You will not find this kind of quality, service, or integrity in the products found at any of the big box stores, making the price worth every penny. (Check out their new hat, I don't know the name but when on, it reminds me of Amelia Earhart, and is great for keeping ears covered and warm and still looking feminine and sexy! More affordable, as well, for less that $150, I think) - Hele
